Just more of the same.
Oh, just one thing. Mike complained about our expensive meal. So, why did then he spend $40 on ice cream? : - )
This was funny. Gabrielle says, "Oh the horse is so cute. I want to pet him, but he is dirty." Spoken like a true animal lover. NOT.
Mike forced her to pet the horse.
So, my Mom did not believe in telling your kids they were pretty, handsome etc... I had a "relative" that was constantly telling her daughter she was sooo pretty. My Mom thought that was appalling. Come to think about it, that girl did turn out totally into herself. But my Mom would compliment us. She would tell us an unattractive dress looked lovely on us. If I made a soggy cake, it was the best she ever ate. Or she would tell us we didn't need to lose any weight, when we did. The other day, our preacher said to build up your kids, but not by bragging about their attractiveness.
Sigh... I'm not going to brag on these guys' looks. Then again, I don't need to say anything, because the pictures do the talking for me. : ) I put a whole lot of Bible verses below about bragging. So, I guess you can decide if it's right or wrong when it comes to telling your kids how great looking they are. : - )
Matthew 6:1-34
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in
order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your
Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no
trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the
streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they
have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let
your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving
may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love
to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they
may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their
reward. ...
Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man
boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not
the rich man boast in his riches,
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful
desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain
advantage.
Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.
Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of a gift he does not give.
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord
Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the
world.
So that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.
Those who trust in their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches?
Arden bought her Dad his favorite ice cream.
Arden told him Monday he had to go back on his diet. She was serious too! LOL
Cokie worked hard on this shirt. She fretted all day about it. The back has the kids' hand prints, and the dog's too.
Someone ticked Boone off. Something about Lyric calling him stupid, Pryor saying he was a baby and Stafan putting his head up Pryor's "bottom." All that happened in Panera? But, since I tend to spoil Boone and Boone is no shrinking violet you don't have to worry about Boone. He'll get them back. The problem is...
he got me back! Boone's eyes were closed in all the pictures. I didn't notice till I downloaded them.
Then off to church! Boone was still mad when he left for his class.
Deuteronomy 6:6-8
Who is like the wise?
Who knows the explanation of things?
A person’s wisdom brightens their face
and changes its hard appearance.
Ecclesiastes 8:1-9
