I was super excited this morning!  My sister, Arden and I got to sit in on a taping of Hannity!  Oh my gosh!  I like Sean Hannity!

Vote!  Yes, I will be voting for Ted Cruz and Carly!   They have something I really like--brains and morals.  But, Carly you can't sing.  : - )

Evil among Us.

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God,  the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."

Isaiah 43:1-3

Evil among Us.

The other day Mike and I went out to dinner at Maggiano's with another couple.   We chatted away at the table for three hours!  I also took Boone.  He is growing up way too fast, and I just like him tagging along.

Boone behaved the entire time.  At first he drew pictures.  After dinner he played in the butter smashing it into the plate.  He mixed his salad with his ice cream and called it "a healthy shake."  The entire time the adults were jabbering Boone hardly interrupted or even made a noise.
I knew making a 9 y.o. sit there that long was asking a whole lot.  So, I did something I NEVER do.  I handed him my cell phone to play with.  He couldn't tear it up only a few inches away from me.  I do have a nice cell.  My kids think it is a total waste.  I probably use about 10% of what it can do.

At first Boone made a few phone calls.  He told Stafan to take the dog out.  He told Lyric and Cokie to get their baths.  Then he called Bret a few times to get under her skin.

Well, when we were about ready to leave,  I took my cell back.  It was oily from our Italian meal and his greasy little hands.  I expected that!  But, what I didn't expect was the full blown pornographic picture staring back at me!  And it was stuck on the picture!  I couldn't get it off!  Then, I realized Boone was desperately trying to get it off too!

I showed it to our friends.  Their mouths dropped open.  Mike had gone to the restroom.  I asked the man we were eating with to "GET IT OFF THERE!"  He didn't want to touch it and his face was red.  He whispered, "Have Mike do it."  About then Mike came back, but at the same time I got the picture off.  I whispered in Mike's ear what the picture was.  Now Mike's mouth dropped open.

We got up to leave.  I had never seen Boone so quiet, confused and bewildered looking.  I knew he didn't know if he was in trouble or not.  I didn't know what to do or say.  I finally whispered, "that stuff will RUIN your mind."  Then we let it drop.  Boone was happy on the way home knowing he wasn't branded for life or even blamed.  : - )  He was still unusually quiet though.

I'm disgusted that our society has gotten to where we can't even protect our child sitting a few inches away from us.  I'm disgusted that Donald Trump is fine with Bruce Jenner going to the restroom with our daughters.  And Hillary!  She is even worse!  I'm disgusted Target wants grown men using the restroom with my daughters or me!  Seriously!  This country has gone insane.

But the absolute truth is everyone will exist eternally either in heaven or hell.

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.  Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Daniel 12:2-3

Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

Matthew 25:46

Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice.

John 5:28

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.  And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:14-15

IMG_2862

Pretty sure you won't find this in the lake of fire.

IMG_2867
Or this, but I bet I find it in Heaven where I'm going!

He may kill me for this, but then again nothing I do surprises him.  : - )   Mike was teaching last Monday night.  Right before class was over he started having bad pains in his shoulder and chest.  He of course was a little bit worried about his heart, like most men would be.  He decided to stop by the hospital on his way home.  Turns out he has a very healthy heart!  Even low risk for a heart attack.  Thank you Jesus!  That obviously was wonderful news.  The bad news is pneumonia!  Bless his heart.  Well, they say it hard to keep a good man down.  Trust me Mike is no exception.  He still keeps right on going.  He did sleep in on the first morning because he was at the hospital till late.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7

The school board tours the schools every year.  I love to tag along and check out my kids' daily life.  As you can probably see, the kids are a little embarrassed their parents are at school harassing them.  Stafan is too nice to ever say anything negative to us. Instead he grins sheepishly.  Sigh... Stafan is a true blessing.

IMG_1073

Shepard is in pain, but sucks it up.

IMG_1059

Lyric looks like she could cry.  LOL  Love the way the boy is sticking his tongue out at me.  : - )  But, let me say, Stafan and Shepard would rather die than stick their tongue out at any parent.  They are both more the serious types.  Oh, and please don't tell Michelle Obama what Lyric is having for lunch!!

IMG_1063

Then, there is Cokie who has become pretty spunky.  Lael can get nostalgic and showed up between her work and classes to check out the goings on of her siblings.

All our kids knew I was there taking pictures, but they thought if they didn't look up it was fooling their classmates.

Thursday I had dinner with my feisty girls.  Arden had a day off.  Lyric had been home from school two days with a fever.   So, Lyric was feeling better and decided some Motrin would get her through a lunch out.

IMG_2813

I can't decide whether to have a feisty or sassy lunch.

Lyric always sees the glass half clean!

Me:  "Why did that grade drop?!"

Lyric:  "At least the others stayed the same!"

They are growing up fast.  Well, Arden is already there, but Lyric has changed over night.

Arden:  "Mom, make Lyric take my pants off!"

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

My mother on their family farm.  She is the tallest with the dark brown hair.  The blond driving the wagon and holding the baby is her younger sister, Joyce.  Joyce is holding their nephew, David, who belongs to their oldest sister-not pictured.  The two youngest in the back are their brother Danny and sister Adria.  Danny died at age 18 of leukemia.  And Adria died recently at the age of  76.

My Mom in the back, Aunt Adria in the pigtails on the left, Aunt
Joyce far right.  I think my Aunt Nita is in the middle holding the baby girlThe baby girl is Joy Jean, and Joy Jean's brother David is the little boy in the front.  David and Joy Jean (my cousins) are the children of my Mom's oldest sister, Marion.

My brother at Danny's grave.  While I was growing up, it was almost like Danny was alive because the entire family talked about him so often.  He was the baby out of ten kids (one died at birth).

Scan 284

My Mom's brother Danny.  This is his senior picture, probably taken the same year he died.  The baby who died was named Keith, so Danny was named after him--Danny Keith.

Grandma and Grandpa with their two youngest,  Aunt Adria and Uncle Danny.  I wonder if they knew he had leukemia here?

Scan 260

My Mom in the middle with all her sisters.  Their house in the background.

The house my Grandpa built after his first house burned to the ground.  No other houses in sight.  My Mom was a teenager when my Grandpa built this house.  After their house burned, they had to live in a tent while he was building their new house.  A storm blew the tent down, and they moved into a shed on the property.  A photo of the shed is several pictures below.  The house above is the one I grew up visiting.  At night, if a car pulled in you could hear it coming down the gravel road forever and ever.  I loved this house and we visited usually about once a month--sometimes more and sometimes less.  I always slept in the right front bedroom.

Scan 290

Side view.   My best memories of childhood were in that house, and it didn't bother me a bit that it had flies everywhere and wasps upstairs!  The back add-on room was always called the annex.

Scan 309

The house while it was being built.  Look at the clothes on the line!

This is David, the baby in the wagon.  He is with his wife Hedie (yes that is spelled right--pronounced like "Headie" not Heidi).  They are on my Grandpa's farm.  David grew up in California, but he came back to visit his Mom's family quite often.

Scan 289

David again with his sister Joy Jean-- the baby in the 2nd picture from the top.  My Mom in the back and her sister, Marion, on the far right, the kids' mother.

My Grandpa and my back, on the farm!  This is the shed I was talking about above.
