Chateau Sur Mer is one of the first mansions of the Gilded Age in Newport, Rhode Island.  Completed in 1852.   It was about half the size of the others, "only"  30,000 square feet.  LOL  The owner was a merchant in the Old China Trade and was born in 1801.

This was the back porch.  The really cool thing about this door is you can enter in the house, but you're not "really" in the house yet.  There were double doors.

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2

So, I guess I'll have to wait for mine, but I'm OK with that!!

So we decided for Remi's graduation to take her to Boston which happens to be one of  "my" favorite places. : - )  Well, I had to bring Boone along because it's just easier.  He is the baby.  And, Lael well she just decided she was going too.

Boston has a great Chinatown.

The Gourmet Dumpling House.  We ate here last time we were in Boston with Arden.

It's been wall to wall people every time we've been there.  Kind of like China.  :)

We stayed at the Omni Parker House.  This hotel is where JFK proposed to Jackie Bouvier inside at the Parker's Restaurant.

Parker's Restaurant is the birthplace of the Parker House Roll as well as the original Boston Cream Pie.

While everyone else was out whale watching I just "had" to spend the $10 bucks and try the pie, which of course really is a cake.  Ha.

Lael and her whale tooth.  No, she didn't catch the whale, but it was real and they saw several whales.
