Scavenger Hunt
It's funny the things that can make lasting memories for kids. Mike decided he wanted to plan a Scavenger Hunt for the kids. Surprisingly, when he told them, the response wasn't a collective, "our Dad is such a dork"; they actually got excited about it. They started picking teams and getting all competitive about it.
It went much better than the tug of war, but then again, that's a pretty low bar.
More cheap entertainment. Boone wanted coins for the wishing well--no way! The economy stinks and we don't have any to spare.
So I was fine with him fishing them out and throwing them back in. : - )
I made Boone stay with us when the kids were running around the village for their scavenger hunt. Mike did a great job with it, but sometimes men just cannot think about more than one thing at a time.
Mike: Boone go find the kids and tell then to come here.
Me: Mike, you sent a 7 y.o. off to run around Gatlinburg by himself.
Mike: Oh crap!
He did run and grab him. : - )
Scavenger hunting builds an appetite!
A man and his ketchup...
