This was taken at the Hong Kong airport. They were as shy and scared as they looked. We didn't know it then, but Shepard was also in pain because of needing two root canals.
This close to CHRISTmas I didn't have it in me to make a huge deal of her B-day, but the rest of the kids had to clean the house for CHRISTmas day and Remi didn't have to do anything the entire day.
This picture has a special significance, because every time Remi talks to her foster Mom the lady ask her how many shoes she has. Remi answers a lot and then the lady tells her she is a liar. Remi never had her birthday acknowledged in China.
