The laying on of hands is a religious ritual. It is used in invoking the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit only works if you are Saved by the blood though. : - )))
Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

It was administered by the nuns at her school. It was lovely even if we are not Catholic.
This is what is left of the students who started with Lael's nursing class. About half the students who started with her did not make into the clinical stage.
When the Dean was praying for Lael and the other students I have to say it was hard not to cry. This is the same little 3 y.o. girl that I picked out of an orphanage, took her by the hand, boarded a plane and together we flew to the other side of the world to start our new life together--as mother and daughter. Lael told me again yesterday, "I was in love with you." Then, she went on to say, "Until you got the other kids!"
Afterwards, we celebrated at Bucca di Beppo. Yum.
