Lyric was a heart baby. Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)
In most children, the cause isn't known. It's a very common type of heart defect though. Some children can have other heart defects along with VSD, but she didn't.
VSDs are classified as: small (diameter less than or equal to 3 mm), medium (3 to 6 mm) and large (greater than 6 mm). Lyric's was almost 8 mm.
