This is one of my very, very best friend's daughter.  How adorable is she?  My friend is like an angel to me.  Not a real angel of course, but someone God, or maybe even an angel (not sure if angels can do that) sent to help me along the way .  : - )

AngelicaAngel

The Bible is full of scripture about angels.  Angels are very, very real.  However,  it is sad when people don't understand the truth about angels.  For example read Revelation 22:9 where it talks about worshiping angels.

But he said to me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!"

Revelation 22:9

Also, people often talk about their loved one's death, as if they have turned into angels.   People do not and will not turn into angels.  Angels are created by God.  People are created by God.  They are two totally different creations.  Here is the exciting part though!!

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

Psalm 91:11

Not only do believers have angels protecting them, the Body of Christ in general (the church) has multiple thousands of angels watching over it:

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,   to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,

Hebrews 12:22-23

Angels are our protectors when God sovereignly commands them to do so.  Since angels are under God’s sovereign hand and he commands them to protect us, I think it is correct to conclude that Christians have guardian angels.  Angels are commanded by God to “encamp all around us” and they have been with us and will be with us "from this time forth and forever be with us" and even strengthen us, and "minister to us."  Heb 1:7,14, Psalm 34:7, 91:10-13, 103:21

For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully."

Luke 4:10

In speaking of the angels he says,

"He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire."

Hebrews 1:7

Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Hebrews 1:14

But we must always remember, of course, that Jesus is superior to angels.

For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son;
    today I have become your Father”?
Or again,
“I will be his Father,
    and he will be my Son”?
And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.”
In speaking of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels spirits,
    and his servants flames of fire.”
But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
    a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
    therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
    by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
    like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
    and your years will never end.”
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
“Sit at my right hand
    until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet”?
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:5-14

When it comes to angels it is hard to decide which scripture is more fascinating!  Some fun Angel facts:

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Hebrews 13:2

Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

Isaiah 6:2

Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

Psalms 103:20

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 19:10

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Acts 8:26

 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psalms 91:11

Did you know?!!

Angels are extremely powerful.  The prophet Isaiah had the great privilege of seeing them and wrote:

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another
:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;    the whole earth is full of his glory.

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

Isaiah 6:1-4

Ezekiel chapter 10:9-20 gives a vivid description of them that is hard to imagine.

I looked, and I saw beside the cherubim four wheels, one beside each of the cherubim; the wheels sparkled like topaz.

Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.
Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord's glory.
And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.
And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.
And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.
And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings.
And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.
10 And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.
11 When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.
12 And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had.
13 As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.
14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
15 And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar.
16 And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.
17 When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
18 Then the glory of the Lord departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
19 And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the Lord's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims.

Something else that is super exciting:

Jesus had a multitude of angels and could direct angels at His command.

An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

Luke 22:43

And, if you want your socks knocked off think about this!!  It is possible that many of us have even encountered angels and not even known about it.  The writer of Hebrews says:

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Hebrews 13:1-2

Merry Christmas!!
