Celebrating the birth that brings peace on earth.
My dear friend Darla had most of my kids' Christmas stockings made. It was just one of the many sweet things she did for me. It is hard to believe she has been gone almost seven years. I miss her. But I know I will see her again someday because of the greatest gift any of us have been given, whose birth we celebrated today!
It is always so much fun watching the kids open their gifts Christmas morning.
The gift that truly keeps on giving.
I guess Boone pays more attention to the old western shows I like watching. His first words upon seeing this gift were, "but I don't have a cowboy hat."
But he does have a cowboy mustache!
Cokie loves stuffed animals.
And the bigger, the better!
Shepard's big gift this year was an iPod. He was pretty sure he was getting one, but he didn't find it under the tree for a while and was starting to look pretty nervous.
And let me tell you, Shepard worked for this present! He has a temper, and after he got mad and really blew his stack six months ago right before his birthday, we told him he had to get his temper under control -- or not to expect much on birthdays or for Christmas! When he finally found the iPod and realized he made it, he ran up and gave his Dad a huge hug. It was really sweet and very sincere, but I also think it was as much a sigh of relief as a sign of gratitude. : - )
Lyric is very artistic and has even won some art contests. In elementary school, her picture was chosen to be displayed "permanently." When she opened this art kit Christmas morning, she got so excited she actually moaned; no kidding, she sounded like she was in pain.
Remi's a runner, but I think she was more into the leopard print on these shoes than their design for speed.
Boots were a big hit this Christmas.
Maybe a little much, but as the wrapping said, "There ain't no thing like a Bret Bai Ling." She's so worth it.
