Investing in your child's "real" future and teaching them to take a stand!
Lael, Arden and my nieces Payton, Erin and Jenna attended a Christ in Youth retreat. They traveled to Johnson City, TN to Milligan College.
I see Payton in the video dancing. She has on a gray t-shirt and peach shorts. Before that I think she was playing cards and wearing the red and white stripes. I think I saw Jenna too.
My niece Erin and Arden.
My niece Jenna on the right.
A couple of weeks after CIY, Lael, Arden and my niece Payton were off to Tennessee "again"-- this time for two weeks to attend Summit Ministries leadership forum hosted by Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.
Summit Ministries is an educational Christian ministry dedicated to training young people in what it means to think like a Christian. Can you defend your faith? Is it worth defending?
Summit turned Payton around from saying things like, "Don't be a hater" to "That doesn't make you a hater it makes you a follower of God's word."
Then the little kids' camps. I didn't send Stafan to camp, because of his allergic reaction to the bees last summer, and I didn't send Shepard since Stafan was going. They were not happy about it! Next year they've got to go!
Bret, Remi and my nephew Eliot went the week before, but I didn't get any pictures of them. : - (((
The kids with their awesome leader Tyler. Tyler runs the Children's Ministries at our church!
My niece Gabrielle was Baptized. Notice how she moved to the front of the line. : - )
The girls all bunked together. At the end they were given a title. It was funny how their leader figured them out so fast. Left to right: Katie most helpful, Lyric most charismatic, Cokie most lovable, Darby most spontaneous (you gotta know Darby) and Gabrielle most friendly.
Darby being Darby.
Cokie with their buddy Katie. Katie was adopted with Gabrielle.

Another week, another big-city mayor inappropriately popping off. This time it's Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino going on his rant about not allowing a Chick-fil-A restaurant on his city's Freedom Trail.
