Happy New Year!
Wow, tomorrow is 2013!! I need to get the rest of the CHRISTmas pictures up or it'll be too late, right? I absolutely love this Christmas song I have playing from Mandisa. I'm going to hate taking it off. I could listen to it a hundred times. Actually, I think I have.
I've decided I really, really like butter cookies.
Some people like flowers, some like wine, some like poetry, but I like cakes! Seriously, I love looking at pretty cakes. : - )
Miss Remi Adria has been our daughter for 2 1/2 years. We have watched her change from a VERY, VERY shy girl into a, well normal teenager.
Mike with our one and only grandchild.
Bret and her Uncle are buds. Bret gets along really well with adults. Adults just like Bret, and she likes them. Bret also has a lot of friends her own age, and this Christmas vacation has been proof. She has constantly had one or two of her posse here or she has been at one of their houses. You want your kids to have good friends, and I'm pretty happy with Bret's. She has had the same group of girlfriends for years. They all go to our church and school.
Next Christmas we'll have another son. He was on my mind a lot Christmas day. He always is, but I accept the fact that much of it is out of my control. I think seeing all the kids so excited and having such a great time Christmas day made me think of him. The kids got new toys and more food than they could eat for a week.
When I said we had more food than we could eat for a week, I meant it. On the 3rd day Lyric said, "Mom are you going to the store, because it seems like all we're doing is eating the Christmas food." I didn't tell her, but while she was eating Christmas day leftovers--I wasn't. Mike and I were doing a lot of eating out! I think people want to think I have such a rough life, but trust me, I don't. : - )
More pics of the cake and Cokie. Behind her you can see Lael's senior pictures which I need to post. They turned out great! I don't know about you, but after I've raised a child I give a sigh of relief that I raised another one, and she actually turned out. When I say that, I mean she still came out OK despite the fact I raised her. Well, Lael is more than OK. : - )
The girls looking at our church directory. These are my nieces, but all our kids love looking at it. They use it like their school yearbook.
My nephew, Eliot. After Christmas my sister's 5 kids stayed here for 2 days. We were snowed in, they had their new toys and it was all good. My friend called and I told her I had 13 kids here and she asked me if they were being good. She and I had been talking at least 30 minutes. I asked her if she heard any of them and she said no. The kids and I have an understanding. They leave me alone, and I leave them alone. : - ) OK, maybe it helped a little bit since we were snowed in and Mike was working from home. They don't like to make Mike too mad.
Look what I got for Christmas!! OMW! I like it and "maybe" I'll save some money since I will not be living at Starbucks. OK, the little cups are still expensive, but Mike said since I have a bad cold, I can have as many drinks as I want for now. Yeah, right like he can control my addiction.
More CHRISTmas blogging
This was taken outside the school on the last day before Christmas break. Sawyer isn't in it, because he ran off too fast. All but Darby in the green, are in 4th grade. I took my sister's kids to school since they obviously couldn't take glass on the bus and they were taking in treats for their teachers. They have wonderful teachers this year.
Stafan and Lyric's teachers emailed and asked us to attend their little program they were having at the end of the day. They were recognized for being good kids. Lyric's teacher talked mostly about her imagination and how it made her a good writer.
