Remi's sister friend flew clear across the country to visit. They were foster sisters in China and since they were both adopted in 2010, Remi's friend has visited a lot. Well, this time Remi went back with her to the West Coast and had a super trip! They were all so sweet to Remi.
But before they both left to fly way across the USA, Remi took her to church, because that's what we do.
My sister and I were visiting a friend and on the way back we ran across a Mennonite lady who had the coolest roadside stand. I mean this lady had some beautiful baked goods! So I bought some lemon cookies for Remi to take back to Oregon as a gift. As Remi traveled across the country, Mike and I tracked her flight via an iPhone app. But all I could think of was the Oregon Trail. LOL Back when it took months to cross the country. I heard once about an Oregonian who liked to say, "the cowards never started, and the weak died along the way...and that leaves us." At best, they made the journey with just some scurvy! They were lucky to even survive. Yet, Remi crossed the country in 5 hours. And, the lemon cookies arrived unbroken and not stale. : - )
